The Cowtown Marathon

Our mission is to promote a lifelong love of fitness in the hearts of our North Texas youth. All proceeds from our races go towards our charity, The C.A.L.F. Program (Children’s Activities for Life and Fitness). The C.A.L.F. Program, was created in 2009 to help tens of thousands of children from area school districts and community centers lace up and start crossing finish lines. Our staff and volunteers visit schools across North Texas, training students in proper running techniques and educating them about resting heart rate, the importance of hydration, proper nutrition, and living an active lifestyle.

Through our school C.A.L.F. Grant Program, we identify low-income children and fit them properly with a new pair of running shoes, as well as provide discounted entry fees into our Kids 5K event. In 2020 alone, we awarded over 5,000 financial grants and 5,000 pairs of running shoes. In the past 11 years, we have distributed over 40,000 pairs of shoes and financial grants.

THE 2022 COWTOWN MARATHON IN-PERSON EVENT

February 26th, 2022 – Adults 5K & 10K races are run.

February 27th, 2022 – Half Marathon, Healthy Hig Relay, Full Marathon, & Ultra Marathon are run.

THE COWTOWN MARATHON VIRTUAL EVENTS

January 17th, 2022 – All 2022 Virtual races begin.

February 27th, 2022 – Last day to submit times for The 2022 Cowtown Virtual runs.

Trailblazer’s Training Program

The Cowtown Trailblazer Program is an exciting training program for those interested in group or virtual training for The 2022 Cowtown Half, Full, and Ultra Marathon! The program kicked off on October 2nd, 2021. The program uses your current fitness level and/or your previous race times to calculate your ideal paces for various types of training runs throughout the program. The Trailblazer Program offers in-person group activities with social distancing as well as virtual options.

No matter when you join, we can create a plan to help you to run your best race! The Trailblazer’s plan features group activities such as Wednesday Virtual Bootcamp hosted by Tamara, Tuesday Speedwork, and Saturday long runs with pace coaches. Perks include different routes each Saturday (planned out on The Cowtown racecourse), seminars on relevant topics, and a Trailblazer training shirt. Both beginner and advanced schedules are available. We will send detailed weekly emails and schedules and have a private Facebook group page for communication.
